The gutting knife with its soft grip handle and bullet shape tip, is the only tool to use for the gralloch.
Many a time I have punctured internal organs or gut when performing the gralloch. Not any more !!! 

First you pinch the skin between thumb and for finger, make a cut, then insert the gutting knife and cut forward towards the chest cavity. You can also use the same knife to expose the wind pipe and throat.
